Default Plants in B&W

I was going for tonal depth on this one. Flowers in B&W are very interesting to me just because of the textures that can be achieved and subtle variations in tone. Shot at 400 just to make sure I wasn't losing sharpness to shutter speed, otherwise I would've shot at 200.

Tonal depth in spades, very nicely done. How did you convert?

I couldn't get the whole shot onscreen, so i can't say for sure, but I think that the out of focus foreground elements may detract a bit from the image.

Used channel mixer in CS3. It's 800x800, that's weird that it wouldn't fit on your screen, I was debating size on this one for posting and went will full size. I was (obviously) very close in, so even at f/8 DoF isn't very deep, I didn't really notice the front edge on that one side of the leaf, when I was deciding on focus I was going for the heart of the plant.
