Interesting subject. It got me thinking as to what it might be. The diagonal pipes and placement heighten the tension while the corrugated steel running vertical adds to the interest of the shot. Well thought out. Glad to see the D80 is up to the task producing a lovely subdued colours for this scene.

Since the gauge commands the attention, I'd consider cropping in closer to it on the left and according to the rule of thirds, but you're the photographer and it's your call depending on what you want to communicate.

Nice shot. EXIF looks like it was taken at 1/3 sec at f/4.2 and ISO 800. A little dark on my monitor but after examining it for a while it comes through. I like the mood you have created. As uvsub suggested, cropping may make it even better. Good eye for an unusual subject/setting. How are you liking your D80?

yes, i have that same problem too, right now im looking at it on an old tube monitor. it looks way too dark, but when i look at it on the LCD monitor right next to me it looks just right. Iv had my D80 for about a month now and iv taken it to a few different locations. i really like it, im still learning with it so i have alot to improve on.
