Default Red cold

It was unusual to see the color red popping out on that cold day while walking around the woods in my neiborhood. This was actually the first snow in Massachusetts for this winter. Thought i'd get a shot of that. Let me know what you think.

i think it's a bit too centered in the frame and the rest of the picture feels empty. next time maybe try using a portrait orientation and filling more of the frame.

looks a lot like a plant i took a picture of this past fall:

I agree, you should have gotten closer and probably off-centred it a little. However I do love to background, it looks so cold and dream-like.

In addition to the placement within the frame, I would reccomend some color correction. Or even better, setting the white balance. There is a blue cast over everything, even the plant.

i can't speak for the original poster, but they may have done that intentionally to give the picture a 'colder' feel.

I thought the picture looked nice, although the OP could've cropped the sides a bit, to make the red plant a bit more of in the 'subject's limelight'. But that's just me. Other than that, I liked the vast emptiness in the background.

Thank you very much for your constructive comments guys. The white balance was actually on purpose to add the blue tint but i agree that it works on the background but not so much on the plant itself.

Here's another with WB on auto and slightly different composition. You might like this one better.
