The Subject almost touched the lens. I did not watch the shutter speed that was selected.

Ooh, a Japanese Beetle. Those things drive me crazy every summer chewing hole in my roses. Excellent macro from an unusual angle with the ends of the plant stalks. Makes me want to swat him!

Chloe thinks this is a very cool photo, and would maybe benefit from a square crop, cutting off left part of picture.
She would try doing this but does not realise how to edit someone elses photos yet.

You can check the shutter speed of photos uploaded to flickr by clicking the more properties link down the bottom right of each photo page. If anyones interested the shutter speed in this shot (according to flickr) is 1/50th of a second.

That really is very close, looks good, but might be helpd by a bit of a tighter crop.

Here is the cropped version. I did'nt want to loose the effect created on the right by the plant stalk, so cropped mostly on the left.
What do you guys think?

Mandar,
Great shot. The crop really does help. Have you thought about either adjusting levels or saturation to get those emeralds and browns to really pop out?
