Default engagement

I took this couples engagement photos and this is the one they chose to put in the paper.
do you think the crop is too much or too square?

Looks a little like LucisArt or similar software applications. I know you favor the dark corner vignetting but in this shot it appears to be a little too heavy for my eye. Very nice pose. The shadow on his face may create some newspaper reproduction problems. Typically such newspaper shots are more evenly illuminated so that they reproduce well in newsprint as opposed to a more dramatic lighting ratio that may look good on a color photo paper. You do nice work and have a flair for portraiture. Keep at it!

Thanks Lee for your comments .I checked out Lucisart, very interesting. I agree with the dark being a bit much. I think the girl is beautiful and doesnt really need much around her to set the photo off.

One well known studio here in town uses the "Lite" version ($169) of Lucisart in their portrait business and are quite happy with it. Download their 30-day trial version and see what you think. The trial software will allow you to manipulate your images but it will not let you save or print the image. You can only view the results on the screen. I look forward to seeing more of your portraits.
