Thingy - what you are seeing is the top of a 15 foot rock/cement sea wall - I have another pic without it in it, but the couple isnt looking out into the sun -
I am going to try to combine them with Photoshop Lee-the shot was actually an afterthought - i was taking pics of my kids and just happened to catch the older couple sitting there! The kids pics has issues I know, but I thought it turned out quite nicely with the Powershot - thanks for the comments on the other pic!!!! T |

I like the silhouette. This shot feels out of balance for me. The two biggies, the sun and the couple are situated on the far left third of frame. Since there's nothing happening in the other two thirds I would consider cropping it more tight on the couple and sun.

....throwing in my 2 cents...
When I first saw the image (and before I read anyone's posts), I appreciated the black area in the bottom (thought it was sand to be honest!) as it sort of balances out the shot and almost gives it a thirds composition feel. But anyways, I think your shot is really stunning. Great job noticing an opportunity for a really moving photo and composing it so well!
