Excellent composition all around! Rule of thirds met wonderfully, both specific subjects (sun and fisherman) off-center, great color and light, etc. Nice silhouette...works well in this situation. Simply stunning!!

My only other comment is to say that some parts of your photo are a bit soft, namely the fisherman's feet and foreground sand. Not really a huge issue, but noticeable nonetheless. Did you use a long focal length? What was your aperture? It's possible that given the circumstances, a wide focus and greater depth of field was difficult to achieve.

But anyways, enough of that talk...your photo is beautiful!!

Thank you both.
I noticed the slightly out of focus feet of the fisherman too.
The problem is always that it's difficult to see that on your cam's LCD. I usually notice it when I open the pic on my PC.
I'm don't zoom in all parts of my picture to see if it's sharp, but maybe I should...
Or is there another way to check that?

Focal length 1700/10
Aperture F5
Shutter speed 1/100

Very nice shot! The wonderful silhouette seems a bit overwhelmed by the dark water surrounding him. I wonder if using the shadow/highlight tool in photoshop to lighten the water somewhat would make the silhouette really jump out...That aside the composition is good right down to the pole leading into and not out of the frame.

Focal length 1700/10
Aperture F5
Shutter speed 1/100
Trying to interpret your settings here...went to your homepage and see that you have a Nikon D80 (can't read anything just saw the photo)...is this the camera you used for this shot? Your aperture of f/5 may have something to do with your focus issue. Getting a smaller aperture (like f/11 or f/22) would help get broader focus (greater depth of field), but then the downside is you'd need a much slower shutter speed to compensate, and consequently, a tripod. I'm not expert in this area...how do I interpret your focal length of 1700/10? Does this mean 170mm? That's a fair zoom too, so that would also contribute to your shallow depth of field. In this case, you'd have to move closer to the subject, or else just change that aperture as already discussed. Hope this helps!

@Teewinot
Isn't your Dutch that good?
Yes I used my D80 with the 70-300 lens. I got the 1700/10 from the exif but I'm not an expert on that field either.
I guess I zoomed in a lot. Don't like to sneek up on people. Next time I'll try a smaller aperture.

Thanks for the advise...
