Something about this ball just out there caught my eye...

Interesting b&w, compositionally, ball is in the right spot. A little soft, but it might be because of the distance (300mm). This image is just begging for a great title. Thanks for posting the exif BTW.

i'd love to see it with the whiter bits of ground snuffed (cloned) out... it does have something... hmmm, a title... hmm

I can see what Sime means regarding the white spots. I think compositionally it is a nice shot, but maybe the B&W is just lacking enough character in the ground. Do you have a colour version?

I do have the color version...and will post the before and after when I get a chance...i added a gradient from top to bottom...maybe shouldn't have?

here is the color version before sharpening, adding shadow intensity, a gradient from top to bottom and of course b&w....all in Picasa...haven't brought it into photoshop yet....

LOL, don't know why but I was expecting green grass Hey, I'm British..what do I know about baseball! As is, the ball and sand colour are too similar for me. The B&W was cropped closer to the ball too which I think works better. How about the B&W with the ball still in colour?
