Default My first attempt to panning

The speed seems bit slow, as I followed bicycle. Any suggestion/improvement would be appreciated.

That is a great shot - I get dizzy looking at it. The bike and rider are really sharp and the blur of the car is great.

Use a slower shutter speed and follow the bicycle for longer (assuming the car was travelling faster than the bike). Of course, the longer the shutter is open, the more chance there is of blurring the subject, and you also have to make sure that the shot isn't overexposed (narrower aperture or ND filters).

However, this shot is good - it looks like you have a steady hand for panning!

Yep good effort. The contrast of the yellow stands out well against the car and helps with the sharpness I think. Maybe its just me but is there something strange going on with the perspective? some sort of optical illusion? the guy on the bike looks minature Think I'll go back to bed for another hour or two.

What was your shutter speed? Good capture of the bike rider as you clocked his speed nicely with your pan motion. The car was obviously going at a different rate. Remember that when panning, set your body position (feet and shoulders relationship) such that you can turn in a smooth arc from start to finish. Also be sure to continue the pan after you press the shutter buttom. Follow all the way through. Takes some practice but you are off to a good start!

Thanks...

Hmm I hope the rider is pretty young so he looks minature .

I used 1/15 (0.067 sec) shutter speed.

Very nice. Isn't panning fun? I love it for birds. It's like duck hunting without the mess. Great job.

Yeap... its nice idea to try with birds.

Any suggestion on how we can pan the tree/branches swing with wind (especially when the direction of the wind is random)?
