Default M3 roling on 20s

My other model

Its been a while since I have taken car photos. I forgot how hard they can be. Lighting is definately hurting on this and and reflection on the body ruins it to. How ever I feel it turned out pretty good for what I had to work with.

Tell me what you think

I like it, you know... it almost looks CG'ish... bet that M3 goes... I like the reflections, the back's a little blown out but hey ho... works for me. s

I like the setting you have here. It works well. But i have to agree, that for me the reflections on the back of the (very fast) car take somehitg away from the photo for me. I also find the blown out piece of sky on the top left distracting too. You didn't happen to get one that included the whole reflection of the car on the ground did you?

I like it. I think the setting could have been very busy, but it doesn't really feel that way. I don't like the sky at the left, but besides that I really like the image.

Nice shot of the car with the comments previously made, noted. A polarizer probably would not have done much good if the sky was that overcast. A friend who shoots cars at collectors meets carries a large black tarp and lays it on the ground to minimize reflections from that angle. She will also ask the owners to reposition the vehicles for the best lighting. Sunny days work best for her and she always shoots with a polarizer. These collector cars have so many gloss coats onthem reflections can be a real challenge. Recently she discovered that Corvettes present unique photographic challenges of their own, possibly having to do with their fiberglass body and special paints.

More fab work, Trelaflip. Considering the context, the reflections don't disturb me too much. Nice work I have also needed to do photo-shoots of cars where it would be used as a cutout and then the reflections look out of place. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of reflections if you cannot get the car into a studio? (Clockdoc I have noted your suggestions, tx )

thanks for the replys.

where the sky is blown out thats exactly where the sun was. i was thinking of purchasing some big foam board pieces in black and use them as a way to block sun. might give that a try for the next car i take pictures of.

the shiny paint definately makes it hard to get photos of.
