I took about 20 shots before i decided on this one. Not easy as this lil guy kept giving me heart failures as he liked to dive bomb me. I think he thought it was funny to watch me runa nd scream and then come back for more! Anyway, shot htis with Olympus E500, macro. Lighting wasnt the greatest at about noon but you do what you can. I was on top of a mountain so am not positve the time

Nicely composed and cropped! Vivid color and super sharpness where it needs it. We should all be so fortunate with our macro shots. I can relate to the subject "buzzing" you when I last did some flower shots and the bumble bee thought I had gotten too close. 8-) That's when I learned about using the telephoto focal length of my lens for macro shots as well.

windrider86,

Remarkable to see feeding and wings up at the same time.

(Pith helmet: you'll look like Groucho Marx, but the divebombing won't ruin a shot.)

Default heart attacks

Telephoto for the macro. Might just have to look into that one as the near heart attacks are having a diverse effect on me. lol.

I use a SonyF707 and can get about a yard or so away from the subject while still in the macro mode at the full telephoto end of the optical zoom (48mm). Granted, you won't be filling the frame as in your bee shot but it does seem to allow for a little more depth of field that with the wide angle only a half inch from the subject. 8-) I look forward to seeing how your camera responds in the telephoto mode.
