Smile The busy Ginza

This shot was taken in Ginza, Tokyo and I meant to reflect how busy this district is. I like it but I am sure there is room for improvement. Please share your views and thx in advance.

I think more visibility of the people would help support the title of "The busy Ginza." Looks like it was shot on an overcast day and needs a little contrast boost. This is not as striking an image as your building shot. My eye wants to keep going to the soft spot in the lower left corner.

chanedcomm,

Since the sky has nothing to add to shot, and people are what makes a place appear busy, a lower angle with more heads and bodies (back up some?) may give more emphasis. A sunnier day could liven up the overall look. Good idea; think about your viewer.

Thanks for the comments and sorry for breaking the one-photo-per-thread rule but I found another one in the same collection. What do you think of this one?

Thx.

A little better but I think you still need to have a wider perspective to impart the "busy" aspect. Also consider using a tripod for a long exposure to blur the people in the shot.

I much prefer the second shot. It appears more spacious and sharper than the first (and also without the distracting out of focus white area in the bottom left). Even the colours look better. I think it may need a small adjustment to the alignment either horizontally from the roof of the subway entrance or vertically from the buildings on the right.

PS I remember my short time in Tokyo, talk about culture shock! The streets don't even have names

Thanks for the comments. I think I like some aspects of each of them.... For example, I like the way how the station name is shown at the corner of the first one but I agree that more 'heads' being shown looks better so I like the 2nd one from that perspective. I wish I could combine them.

Well.... they do but some times you just can't tell which sign is which if you don't know the language. I have the same trouble.

ok... I am breaking the rule again (more than one photo per thread) but I don't want to give up yet.... Here is another attempt to show the busy Ginza with a different approach. Please share your views.

It will be a bit more challenging, but if you would like to show the crowd, you should be above the crowd.
I think your second photo is better than the first one because you can see more people.
When you climb on something and try the same shot will show you even more of the crowd. Plus it makes the people look more tiny against the big buildings because of the "bird perspective".
