Default I tried the firewrks too

I tried it. My cheap tripod was not to great in the gusting breeze.I think that is the problem anyway?

doesn't look like the tripod was the problem. the buildings in the background a sharp and look good. maybe it was shutter speed. ISO, Fstop?

Yeah I agree....the background does look very sharp and this would show that the tripod is probably not at fault. I would guess you would have wanted a slightly larger shutter speed to get more of the pate from the fireworks or possibly a faster one too get only a single firework. I don't know if you checked it out but on the blog there is a article about fireworks from a couple of weeks ago....it had a fantastic tip about using bulb mode on your camera in order to time the fireworks just perfectly. I tried it out and it worked pretty good for me. Maybe give that a shot.

I don't understand, whats wrong with the fireworks? They look good to me.
