Default swim lanes at Shongum Lake, NJ

Taken with my new Nikon D40:
Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 60 mm (55-200 VR lens)
ISO Speed: 200

Love the formal repetitions and reflections. Great colors. Not sure about the boat in the center, you probably couldn't move the boat itself, but perhaps placing it more to the left or right would be beneficial? Hard to say since I know nothing about what was around you and what the limitations were.

Yeah, i agree with jdepould about the boat. But i also want to say that i don't think that the top half of the image really adds anything to the shot. In which case i would crop it out. I would suggest you experiment with cropping out different amounts of the top off from minor sky cropping right down to taking out everything above where the smooth(ish)* water ends. Even if you crop out this much i still think that it is easy for people to see that these swimming lanes are in a Lake as the jetty/boat/tree-reflections make this clear

*That is the smooth water above the boat, not below

Default different perspective needed

I like geometric shots - but there is too much going on here. Get lower or maybe a different angle. The geometrics are lost i feel
