Default Camel

So I went to Grant's Farm the other day in St. Louis and had to the camels. This was a quick shot that I really like. Let me know what you think.

Welcome miscasedpeas.

The photo is bit overexposed and the reflection from his face gives some harsh feeling. It seems the tree trunk (?) used for fence is embedded in his body.

You selected an interesting subject, try shooting in different lighting condition and do post the result.

Cute grab shot of the camel. Too bad it is a little soft and overexposed. What camera/lens are you using?

I like how you got nice and close. Looks like you might have taken this in the harsh sunlight which may have added to the overexposed look. Your dof may be a little shallow, too. It looks like you focused on his nose and the shallow depth of field left his eyes too soft. Do you know what your aperture was?

Good perspective, I like the close in/wide angle approach. I have a shot of a horse that's similar to this one. Agreed that the DoF is a bit shallow and the exposure is a bit over. Overexposure is really hard to correct after the fact. Adobe has built a highlight recovery feature in to Lightroom that is the best I've come across, but is still only somewhat effective. If you aren't sure, try bracketing, a lot of cameras give you the option to do it automatically.
