Default Dance: Fiesta Noche de la Plaza

This one is a little bit different from the last, no flash, frozen motion.

I wasn't too worried about blowing out the sun as I wanted to maintain shadow detail. I liked the positioning of the dancers and their body language.

even though the sun is quite blown out, the shadows are still quite dark on the people making them difficult subjects to see. I find that the sun, and the beams of light coming from it are distracting from the people in the photograph. Perhaps if something was blocking the full blast of the sun, you'd be able to expose the people correctly, thus making them more interesting subjects. I do like the body language of the dancers, but the ones on the far right and left have parts of thir body chopped off by the frame. Perhaps if this was done in landscape orientation, and then cropped, more of them could be kept in the frame

Windows or Mac?

I wasn't too worried about losing parts on left and right, I was really going for the girl in the middle.

Not really sure what you mean by this. But i'll try to answer it anyway. For cropping pictures in windows/Linux i use Picasa. Not sure about Mac, but iPhoto would probably be able to crop. "Aperture" is also supposed to be good for Mac as well, but you have to pay for it. I'm not really sure.

I just re-read my post, it wasn't very helpful at all. Most of my comments were advice for if you were re-taking this shot, which i presume you can't do, as in my experience, people don't tend to hold poses like that for days or weeks at a time

In this case then, i'd crop out the girl on the right and the big empty expance of sky at the top, and just include the dancers on the left in portrait orientation.. This would also help eliminate the distracting sun
