I'd probably try to crop out the branches on the right-hand side; they're a tad distracting for me, but otherwise nice photo

tonetta33,

Most of all it's a pleasant looking scene, and the technical parts could just make it a better photo. Could be sharper, exposure is high to the point of loss of detail in back feathers, could be cropped top and right to remove people and partial plant and to un-center bird. Still, at first look, good photo.

Beautiful bird, looks like he's posing for you. He seems a little soft. From a 200mm distance sometimes things can get a little oof. Maybe you can shift him to the right a bit. That would get him out of the center of the shot and remove the branches, too.

The back of the bird is washed out. This appears to be mid-day. Try to find your birds early in the morning. You may not of had a choice here... but for the future. The contrast in the scene is hard to shoot and get correct exposure. If you camera will accept it, you could use a polarizing filter and ND filter together. That would cut the glare on the water and cut out the washed out part of the bird.
Nice shot and keep shooting.

Same as above. Those creeping branches are a big distraction for me too.
