Default The End of an Arduous Day

I took this picture several days ago when my kitten was being rather photogenic - posing and playing around for me in the great light of our kitchen window. The shot was made with a skylight and grad ND filter to block out some of the harsh lighting in the window.

I am having trouble deciding how much i really like this picture after being away for it for a day or so. Thanks for all your comments and critique in advance.

Thanks.

yes it is - you can drop a levels layer adjustment and mask it out with a gradient fill.

I think Kitty came out pretty sharp, but the background is kind of distracting. However as a cat owner, I know it can be next to impossible to control that!

xysmas,

Guessing: does the shadow of ear crossing nose and eyebrow bother you? The other things, background and eye detail, could be fixed some in edit; not sure if shadow could be made right. What perfection if kitten faced towards window! Darn cute anyway, I'd go back to it after another week and maybe fiddle with this and that.

The two white sunlight spots in the darker area of the pic are bothering me a little - as are her eyes being so dark. The shadow of the ear is distracting as well. I used some light fill flash here as well but the effect wasn't that great IMO. I'm going to rework this and hopefully get her to do this again for me soon.

xysmas,

On second look, noticed the goblet on right . . . nice touch. Good luck with next one.

Everything jiminyClicket states and it seems the right of the cat is blown out. That may be what you was wanting though. Saralonde is right, they don't sit still much so good nab here.
