Default Another landscape

Well the only way I can get better is by taking shots, lots of them, and asking for people's opinion! So here's the second picture I'll post up here. This shot is taken from the same viewpoint as my other shot found here.

This isn't the original, I've upped the saturation a little, but otherwise I didn't change anything. What I personally like about the shot is the diagonal. What do you like? What don't you like? What could I do better? Thanks for the help!

For me... this is me... I am wondering what the picture is trying to tell me?
What are you wanting to say with the picture?
The diagonal overpowers most of the shot. However it can work. I love magic hour shots. I think this would be a good canadiate for the magic hour to help out.
A real wide angle lens would be great to give contrast and/or be able to see more of the below. Or.. or .... perhaps something in the shot to give perspective of the mountian side. JMO..

The view below is lovely, and I'm guessing you had quite the hike to get to this vantage point.

The dominating feature here, though, is the arid-looking, somewhat scrub-brushy foreground. I like the diagonal also, but it's really secondary -- serving almost like a closing door on the view of the valley beyond.

A couple of approaches here might be: a -- step further into the shot next time, and widen the view to include more of the backdrop / valley floor in the distance, or b -- (if re-taking isn't an option) zoom and crop out the right third or so, making a portrait orientation.

Thanks for the help Dazyl and Avv604! I see what you mean Avv604, there really isn't much this photo is saying. I'll try to work on that in the future. It would've been great to take this shot at magic hour, but I had to go catch a ferry and this was taken at around 2 or so in the afternoon.

As for the reason most of the picture is of the arid mountainside, is because I couldn't get the colours to look right in the pictures of the valley itself. Thanks for the tips Dazyl!

Good tonal value and color but There isn't a subject here that really captures my eye other than the senic view. Have you tried your hand at stitching several shots together using freeware such as Autostitch www.autostitch.net ?

I know what you mean. Sometimes nothing could have been changed. Been there and have the tee-shirt several times. But I take the tips people tell me and perhaps next time I can make that change.

Keep shooting.
