Question Tulip

One of the first pictures with my new D80 taken a few 3 months ago (when the tulip fields were still in bloom).

Any comments?

Nicely placed with the white tips helping to separate the main tulip from the background. It reminds me of our visit to beautiful Keukenhof many years ago. Can you share what lens and setting you used on this shot? What are your thoughts on the D80 so far?

Thanks, the keukenhof is around the corner. These fields are also near the keukenhof.

I'm really happy with my D80 until now. It's fast and I can get the nice DOF I always wanted but couldn't do with my Powershot S2.
This shot was made with the 18-70 lens. I'll post the EXIF information when I'm at home.

Everything about the shot is really good.
But.... the main subject seems a bit blown out. The tips are just a bit blown out...not much though. It looks like this is around mid-day. This shot early in the morning, perhaps with dew, would just make it a stellar shot.

I wonder too what a vertical would look like. Hmm...

Nice color. Nice composition. Rule of Thirds working here..
Good shot.

Good placement and isolation of the one flower. The only thing (and this is pretty nitpicky) that bugs me is that one flower just to the left of the one that's in focus. It just sticks out a tiny bit too much. Probably not something you would notice in camera and I think you were wide open, perhaps a slight shift in perspective would make it less distracting. Either way, it's a very nice looking shot, love the colors and highlights in the tips.
