Elephants are my favourite animals, so I love this shot. I'm wondering why you cropped part of the younger elephant while including more savannah to the right.

Was this intentional? Were you seeking to create more tension in the shot by throwing it out of balance this way? This is more a query than a critique I guess. I'd love to know your thoughts on this!

PS. How did you find the performance of the 75-300 lens?

I think that you've attempted a good composition by putting the elephants to the left half of the photo rather than in the centre. However, I think it could have been more successful if you'd zoomed out just a little bit more to get the entire first elephant in the frame and possibly also the second elephant. As uvsub said, it does create a kind of tension within the picture.

That being said, I think that this is a very sharp picture and that overall it's quite good. Have you done much work in post processing (such as sharpening) or is this mostly the lens. If it's the lens, that's one sharp lens at the 300 end of it

hi, thanx for the reply. Feels nice that some one replies for the shot & show some interest in posts. Ya elephants are mine favorite to, come & visit this part of India, u will find out drastic difference between Indian & their African counterpart. The stature is small compared to their African counterpart but the color & texture and nature along with is beautiful. Come & visit this part of India it's really beautiful. Any assistance sends me a mail.

performance of the 75-300 lens is ok, not so great, as lenses in India are not easily available officially, they are available in grey market, without warranty.
As compared to official & grey price, margin is more than 50%.

Regard,
Amol
