Default The Predator

I had a chance to go up and personal with this little fella at the zoo. I'm thinking he was looking at a buddy of mine. Tell me what you guys think about this one. I really like this shot and might consider a print for it. Any advice on touch up would help.

I like the BW conversion. What technique? And did you do some toning to get the nice silver sheen?

Thanks ELAY. I approached this with tone mapping to get every bit of light on its body to pop out.

Wow, I really like this shot. Good choice on the B&W, I think it makes the falcon (is it a falcon?) stand out better. I tried getting a picture of one of these birds this weekend, but it's a little more difficult when you're not at the zoo and you don't have impressive zoom

I was actually a few feet away from it, which gave framing the shot some more freedom.

Excellent shot and it certainly 'pops'. Looking really sharp. For me the background is just a bit too dark (or similar tones to the subject). A little toning down on a mask of the background could help separate the subject even more.

Nice shot with a great pose. I'll go against the grain though in saying the overall tone of this shot is too dark to suit BW. When I first opened the image there was a weird moment of trying to piece together what this was...almost like those 3D hidden images. I recognized the feet first.

I'd love to see the colour version, as I expect it would be perfect.

I like this a lot. I think that the bird stands out quite well against the background. I could definitely see this being a print.

I actually admire the strong contrast in this shot very much. Here is the color version for those that might be interested in checking out.

It is a great shot, it's good that you were able to get so close to it. But i think i agree with uvsub that the colour version is nicer.
