Very nice. The first looks a little soft, and doesn't really do anything for me. The second, my favourite of the two, looks sharper, and the different shades of grey in the flower really make this picture work. With the second one, the flower is just off centre, so i'd reccoment cropping it to square format so that there are equal amounts of dark(er) grey flower frameing it on each side

I pretty much agree with Steve. First is a little oof or perhaps shot with a too narrow dof. Second is better with a more interesting flower center. I like b&w flowers, but I also think they're more dificult to do. They need to be more striking in some way to compensate for the lack of color which is a primary distinction for most flowers. Often, but not always, it means sharp focus, strong lines, simple compositions. Ithink the second is closest to that.

I agree with everyone on the first and second photos. Try doing them in infrared as well. Sometimes the effect is really nice and a bit more dramtic than doing them in greyscale.
