Here are two of my favorite photographs from walking around on Sunday. No post processing done on either except for converting the first to black and white.
In the first, I put a lot of effort into patterns and simplicity as a method of capturing attention. #1 ![]() In the second, I tried to consider the placement of the traffic lights to create different planes of symmetry throughout the image. #2 ![]() There we're a few more from Sunday that I didn't particularly like but can be found here. |

Hey, synth, I thought I was losing it for a minute when I opened your pic and saw the view from where I'm sitting. I'm using a computer at West Canadian, you must of shot MEC from their parking lot. Anyhow, it's a nice shot but the lamp post on the left with the converging vertical is a bit distracting. Yeah, get back.

Thanks for the input
. The TV can probably still be found on top of a massive crate of construction materials on 6th ave (i may be wrong) next to a used book store. Quote:
#2 was a hard shot because it was at about 1:00-2:00 on a really bright day, and I didn't want to loose highlights. I guess it could use a touch up in photoshop. Have any of you taken a look at the other pics in the link? |

#9 and #10 get the job done. I've shot both of these. I like your take on #9 since it represents an interesting viewpoint since I shot it from street level with a wide angle lens. The placement of the top of the tower is unfortunate but there's not much you could have done about that.
The guy on the ground is facing away from the giant poster. One of your friends in that vicinity looking up would be interesting. I like the contrast in the shot. Is it from the +15? #10 certainly gets our attention since it appears to be crashing into something. It works if that's what you intended. I used a 10-20mm lens and got alot more of the plane and the context which also worked. |
