Default cypress trees

Tuscan landscape 2

I really liked how this looked when I was taking it, but looking at it now it looks kind of flat and blah. Should I have had a more defined point of interest? Anything else I could have done that would have made it pop more? Thanks!

Another angle you could try is shooting on the other side of the trees towards the rolling hills. Almost like a portrait shot where the trees are in focus but the hills aren't or you could reverse it and mke the hills in focus but the trees not.

Hi annie,
I think this is a very interesting shot just as it is. I played with rotating the image clockwise and counterclockwise a few degrees and then cropping to a new image just to see how it would work with the line of trees. You may want to experiment with that if you have time.

annie,

Call it a graphic and it won't look 'blah.' For its simplicity and composition, I think you have a good shot. Subtle is an under-appreciated taste.

I think it is a unique shot that's not as blah as you think.

However, I think that the colors are a bit muted on the upper half of the photo. Maybe you should try to up the contrast on the top half of the photo to give it a stronger impact

I think it is a nice shot of Trees in a Row. I like the way you put this together.

Thanks for the encouraging comments. I appreciate the helpful ideas, and it's also nice finding out when you're being your own worst critic.
