Default The day-after-christmas blue

Hi all,

I took this picture with my new D40 the day after Christmas when all the hype had suddenly died off. I believe there is an unspoken air of sadness on that day...

Let me know what you think.

I kind of like the slightly hazy quality of the picture. I wouldn't change a thing. Very nice.

Thank you msafiedin and Saralonde for your comments. I have a sharper version of this scene too but i opted for this one (the original) because, as Saralonde said, i thought the hazy quality blends well with the kind of foggy stage. But i realize some people might not like it. Btw the cool color is only a result of me forgetting to switch white balance to auto (it was on Incandescent from taking pictures of the kids on Christmas the day before) - thought it was a nice mistake

The haze makes the trees look very cool. I'd recommend a frame, something like a widescreen TV effect and a little tighter crop would make that line of trees just pop out of the picture. If you do that though, you might want to color the land more blue, as it looks like plain dirt and since it's right next to the focus point, it distracts a little. The ripples sure do make this shot seem lively but subdued though (if you know what I mean.)
