Default High Key (or High Maintenance)

Alright, let me first say that this shot is of my missus so keep your responses clean guys!

I've been messing around with portraits and the like using some studio panels that I made (ala Dean Collins). My most recent shoot with my beautiful wife turned out a few goodies. I think this is one of my favs (don't know why)

Sony DSLR-A100;1/125 sec at f/9.0;50mm on 18-70 Kit Lens;ISO100;HVL-F56AM Strobe setup of camera behind a diffusing panel.

Part of the raw strobe light was allowed to spill onto the background to get white without detail. I didn't quite achieve that so had to do a spot of masking in photoshop along with a little skin tone adjustment and the usual sharpening.

Look forward to your C&C,

G

Nice portrait. Excellent skin tones. Black fabric is very difficult to light such that you get detail without blowing out other portions of the picture. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks for the link, we actually used that download to get some ideas for this shoot (and some magazines too).

Its all in the panels clockdoc. They produce a nice wrap-around soft light on the whole subject.
