Default In The Moonlight...

Hi all,

Of all my attempts at capturing something against moonlight, this one came out kinda ok. This is cropped big time from the original image though. Big time! Any tips on how to focus against the moonlight? The leaves seem to be slightly out of focus, although on my cam the 'focus rectangle' was green! Apart from the major crop, played around with levels, saturation and sharpened in 'unsharp mask' in P'shop. Also added a duplicate 'overlay' layer and reduced opacity of that layer to 80%. C/C most welcome!

Moonlight

EXIF Data:
Shutter Speed: 1 sec
Lens Aperture: F/3.2
Focal Length: 12 mm
Metering Mode: Pattern (whatever that means!)

One of my gripes with my Canon S2 IS is how often the autofocus fails. The best tip I can offer is to set a solid target at the same range as your desired focal point and to then do a focus lock and then swivel and frame the shot and then start the exposure.

BTW, nice shot and nice concept!

A little bit of "black" in a photo goes a long way. My only suggestion would be to reduce some of the black in the top part of the photo so that it doesn't appear so "top heavy." Keep experimenting with such shots.
