monsterrrrrrs!.... ok, now that that's out of the way!... i'd clone out the green stem heading out top right, i'd clone out those little white leaves on the ground and the little green leaves on the ground too... i LOVE the pattern on the big green leaf!... maybe try a slightly tighter crop, too. s

what kind of processing was done? something about the picture looks strange (not necessarily in a bad way)

ribkaje,

Agree with crop, if it's left side and a little off the top. Blurring b/g would put more focus on "stick." Good eye, good shot.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Here's a re-work of the picture. Did some cropping, cloning and blurring as suggested. Better?

Basically I just duplicated the background layer with overlay blend at about 50%. Then I added a little Gaussian blur. What I find a little weird with the photo is the shadow the bug casted. I had to use the flash with this one as it was in a very shaded part of the park.

ribkaje,

It's now all about the "stick," and I see the shadow. Photo retains leaf quality, DOF, and I think a good proportion. Do you like this one?

I'm pretty happy with it. Honestly speaking, the photo turned out better than I expected. And with everyone's advice and guidance, it's now better than ever.
Thanks again jiminy!
