Have just started trying to take some macro shots and was hoping for some feedback on this one. Thanks in advance.

Lucasweb - this is a fine macro. Good clarity, good DOF. I would just like to see the effect of cropping a little off the right edge, so that it matches the left side. Good work.

lucasweb, Welcome

This is such an unusual type, would you tell me if it's common to your part of the world (and where that might be). Great shot and display. Centers are like faces, sharpness being important.

Wow thats definitely a cool looking flower. I've tried my hand at flower macro shots before, but I don't have anything exotic enough to make my shots look interesting. When I looked at the shot at highest res, some of the petals became pretty blurry. This is obviously not a focus problem but it's due to your shallow depth of field. Try stopping it up a bit to get a little more clarity in the petals but obviously try to keep that blurry green background. Overall though its a great looking shot.

I agree with all the above and then some, stunning flower, the daisies where I come from definately dont look as pretty as that one!!! Very sharp, good DOF and once again great subject.

Thanks for all the great feedback.

Am not entirely sure what type of flower it is but my wife assures me it is some type of Daisy. The photo was taken in my garden in England.

Will try the suggested crop and post the results shortly.
