Chlobo,

That's pretty good. Do you see differently after even the short time you've been looking at all the posts here? Detail of knot is interesting, hint of sun in upper right. Do you see a way to crop some?

I'm pretty sure I like the crop how it is, if you have a suggestion for cropping though it is welcome.
I see some things differently, yeah, but this was taken about 10 days or so ago.

It's a very interesting shot with lots of detail. A suggestion might be to frame the knot more on the left to comply with the tic-tac-toe rule. It would be a pretty good candidate for HDR or Lomo.

Is this any better?

Would someone be able to explain/give me a link to the tic-tac-toe rule?

The tic-tac-toe rule is also known as as the Rule of Thirds. At its most basic, it is the rule that points of interest in a photo are most impactful when they are placed such that if you drew a tic-tac-toe board on your picture, those interest points (like the cool knot on the fence) would be at the intersections of the grid. Does that make sense? Now, there is a lot more discussion around this "rule" (check the forums), but that's the most boiled-down explanation that I can assemble. hope it helps!

Much better. I also might suggest upping the contrast so that there's a bigger color gap between the knot and the gray fence.

Oh. Right. I get it now. I had a feeling it might've been the same as the rule of thirds. I read about that the other day.
Ok, new edit with higher contrast:
I felt that making it any higher made it look fake.

What do you think?

Looks great - Nice improvement with the contrast, but does not look fake at all.

yep - love this last one, the details of the knot is very cool and in the right place in the image... liked the first one a bit, too. love the way the green is leading into the more distant green... green is my "this weeks favourite color"...
