Question Beach after sunset

I took this shot after sunset, it was a rainy season and sky was cloudy. I used Exposure: 0.025 sec and Aperture: f/2.8...

I tried to add ship to this shot, but they appeared too tiny How could I improve this shot?

you know it's a nice shot, but it has no subject... even the ship would've wrked if you framed it close and properly...

I agree, a subject would have been nice. Since you couldn't get a ship, two or three people walking along the beach would probably have worked equally well.

Beautiful colors in this shot. Generally landscape pictures look best with a foreground, middleground and background to provide interest. You've got 2 of the 3, which is why something feels "missing". You might even be able to use this as a background replacement when editing another shot.

I think this shot has great colors and a tranquil feel. While I agree what Saralonde said about having the 3 components of foreground, middleground, and background, I notice that you actually do have a bit of foreground in sand. Perhaps you could re-do your crop to include more sand or less sky to balance the thirds. In any case, a boat may add different meaning to the shot, but I don't think it's necessary...a beautiful sunset landscape like this can stand alone and really be its own subject...but that's just my take!

One other suggestion...I would rotate the frame a hair to the left (counterclockwise) as the horizon is not absolutely perfectly horizontal.

Nice job and thanks for sharing!

All is not lost since you have some nice color in the sky. You may be able to use this as part of a composite photo in the future with either the sky or the water attributes.
