Default Nighty Night

Took this around 9:30 pm. had to use existing light, which was streetlights that gave off a yellow hue. i think its a good shot, but what does everyone else think? i think this was a 20 second exposure. everything short of that was coming up too dark. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

I like it! By taking the picture at night using a long exposure gives the shot a kind of surreal feel because the train is properly lit, but the sky and background are dark. Improvements? not really sure here as it already looks good to me, but maybe if you were able to take one that looked more down the length of the train it might help

I agree, it is very surreal. It almost seems like a model train at first. I like it very much. My eye was pulled immediately to the red light trail in front of the train and since it has nothing to do with your theme, your might consider cloning it out of there.

Very sharp for a 20 sec. exposure.

Very nice picture, at first glance I thought it was a moving train until I read about the 20s exposure.

Very dynamic with the angle you took it from.

I like it! The yellowish tint from the lights is perfect for this photo, IMHO. Did you use a tripod? Great capture!

yes i did use a tripod. i cant stay still for that long. lol. this was a great subject to shoot and having it sitting still made it even better. i think i took about 500 pictures of him from every angle and every type of light you can think of.

here is a site of mine that has more of my rail pics.

Great shot! I love the angle and the way it is lit with the dark sky makes it very intriguing. The yellow tint you were talking about seems to work with this photo, it lends itself to the yellow writing and the yellow tint in the grass.
Nice job!
