Default Ice on a Branch

I took this shot this past January after an ice storm. I had only just bought my D40 and was out walking around trying it out.

I shot it with the kit lens at 55mm. ISO1600, 1/160 exposure time and f/5.6. It was cropped a bit and converted to black and white, I belive using iPhoto.

What do you think?

topslakr,

That took about 5 minutes to download on dialup. Is the color version still available? The b/w looks like cut crystal, just wonder what color might add to interest.

Sorry it took so long to download. When I post to the site I do 640, 1024, 1280 and full size. The link above it to the 640 version.

I think it is a very nice image, both ways, however I like the color version better. It's just me, unless B&W adds drama I see no point in it.

I too like the color version better. I like the background better in the color version. It doesn't look as grainy.

topslakr, Thanks

The color loaded in 3 seconds, so I like it, too! In our area, wintertime, we crave any little hint of color. Well taken.
