Default End Note

Took this shot last night of my piano. I was originally taking shots of the front of the keys, but decided that was too cliched so decided to take shots of the back of the piano keys just before they go inside the body of the piano and came up with this.

0.5 sec, F/3.6, ISO 50 (focal length= 66mm (equiv 396mm (in 35mm terms))--taken on tripod

What do you guys think?
In the middle of the shot where the keys are supposed to be in focus there appears to be some motion blur from moving the camera. So i intend to retake this shot, so any help as to how I might redo this would be appreciated. (so would post processing help, actually come to think of it, any help would be appreciated)

This is as low as i could get on the tripod without the end of the piano jutting into the image. Hang on i've just had an idea, i could just sitt he camera on the piano keys, that would get it really low. oh well here's the image as it stands:
I thought i'd try a bit of a different angle to add some interest

Ha ha.

The colour seems pretty different to the other one.
Would you be able to get more focus in it? Or was the aim to have only a couple of keys in focus?

This looks much more interesting than the first image. The diagonal really works for it. I'd use a slightly smaller aperture to get a larger depth of field.

I personally don't like the first pic... really can't make out much...

The second pic is much better, like you said, there is quite a bit of motion blur in the first. Also, I can't really tell what the first one is about. Personally, I think the second picture would look nicer with slightly more depth of field.

Thanks for that guys! Using a point and shoot with a tiny sensor, any chance i get to really narrow the depth of field i grab with both hands (in this situation, i zoomed a long way to give the impression of a narrow depth of field). so the tought never really crossed my mind that the depth of field may be too small--its a situation i've never been in before. I'll retake, and post the results if anyones interested (or even if they're not!) but thats for tomorrow, for now sleep, (nearly midnight in australia)

Excellent job. I love the new shot. As mentioned maybe an increased depth of field can improve. I like the angle and diagonal of the shot aswell as the lighting. Look forward to seeing the next ones.
