Smile Max : little bulldog

Hi, this is Max , an english bulldog.

Ok, I know this picture have two big errors, at first, the focus, this dog is tiny but fast, and he moves fast to me, my samsung don't have the best autofocus (it's a p&s), and that's the best result that I can get from a "live" dog.

Other theme is that accidentally I "cut" the head of max, left me more headroom to capture his entire figure, but my camera don't have viewer, I only can preview the photos in the ttf screen, and make this while moving it's really very difficult to keep the camera 30cm in front of my eyes...

But,however, I love this picture!, and the little max is lovely in this picture.

Please your coments, I hope when my EOS 20d arrives, I want to take better pictures, but whit more knowledge.

Pd. sorry my english again.

Pict Data.
Camera Samsung Digimax S500
Exposición: 0.022 sec (1/45)
Aperture: f/3.6
Lente: 10.3 mm
Velocidad ISO: 104

Max is adorable and I think you caught some of his personality. You already pointed out the things that were weakest about your shot, nice self-critique!
You'll have some fun taking shots of him when your 20d arrives.

I like it a lot....loads of personality! The main issues have already been mentioned although I would consider trying to clone out the hand in the top right.

The hand!! you are right! ... I hate to modify the pictures in that dimension, but I'll try to do that, only to see the results.

Thanx for the coments Saralonde and Thingy

necktru, Welcome

If you participate in Valentine's Day (for Sweethearts and candy vendors),
Max's tongue could be red-toned and photo used as card front.

I was going to say that!

I think it is a beautiful photo, and the tongue is excellent! It was the first thing I noticed.

This is the color version of Max, personally I consider the first B&W a little more cute, in the color version the hand is out, I'm not a master in photoshop, I do my best, for now.

Thanks for your comments.

Thats a really cute bulldog!

And I agree with you that the black and white does look a lot better than the colour version.

I agree with the black and white. Sometimes if you notice errors in your photos, turning them to B&W helps to reduce them, or at least make them less obvious.
Leaving the photo in B&W and just turning the tongue into color is a great idea, I had thought of that also when I saw the first picture.
(I actually did that effect with a baby who was laying down and when I photographed her from the side, her lips formed a heart that you could really notice when I turned them back into color.)

Very cute dog!
