Default God I'm Handsome!

I havn't done much in the way of wildlife photography but was lucky enough to come across this bird of prey (maybe one of you knows which type) in the Peruvian countryside. I was shooting slightly down from a hill onto the subject which was perched on the top of a tree. The background was easily blurred as it was a good 1-2 miles away.

ok he is not in focus.. or i should say not tack sharp.. to help you with this .. set Aperture to F8 and let the camera set its shutter if it is lower than1/400s then use tripod or rest camera on top of car or what ever...

with this case since its already been shot do some selective sharping on its eye and some feathers around the face area

Thanks NaturesPixel,

I have sharpened up the above image (and unfortunately overwritten the original so my pic above is now the new version lol). I applied the same sharpening to another pic of the same bird as below. Not sure which I prefer.

sharpness aside, I think I prefer the first one just 'cause of the way the little fella is looking. s

Yeah, definitely the first. You need an eye with life in it and the first has that.

Nice shot! I prefer the facial expression of the bird in the first shot.
