Default Truck Four

This is a picture of the 1946 GMC we use at fire musters and parades. I fooled around just a hair with levels if I remember correctly.

BattalionFive,

Great red variations, yellowed gauge dial adds to sense of antiquity (unfortunately '46 is my birth year).

As part of a series, this is a good addition. By itself, not clear what it is. Good as a color/texture/interest shot.

Hi,
I agree with Jiminy about it standing on its own, especially with the title. You have a good eye for the abstract and I encourage you to keep looking for interesting angles such as this. What's you opinion of the D40 so far?

Default Thank You

Thank you both for your C&C.

JiminyClickit - One of the things that drew me to this picture was the deep red tones other reds throughout. It was kind of an accidental picture, most of my favorites tend to be.

Clockdoc - Thanks for the compliment. As for the D40, so far I love it. I had a 35mm Asahi Pentax (I think from the late 50's) and a Nikinos underwater 35mm before it, so the freedom of digital is a big benefit for me. The lack of LCD on top doesn't bother me as I have never really relied on one before. The lens selection isn't bad. I would like to get a prime (50mm I think, still researching) and after that a zoom (17-200 or 70-300). The camera is easy to use, it fits well in hand, and isn't so light that it feels like a toy.

All in all I am happy with the purchase. I can see where some features of the high end cameras would be nice to have, but for my purposes it works perfectly.

I think I will take the two of you up on your suggestion and try a series with this truck. Thanks again.
