Flower close-up

Took this a while back before i got semi serious about photography and decided it to post this. I'm actually surprised and how sharp it is since it was hand held but if there is anything I should have done differently let me know, im here to learn.

If you want to to create flower shots with some serious visual interest, you have to shoot on them from an angle we don't see every day. That usually means not shooting down on them, and instead getting down low and shooting them from their level.

Seeing as there is a lot of forest floor in the background, I assume that you did shoot down on the flowers. The picture is fine except for the composition. Try shooting the flower from lower down or something.

Plants hate flash, being shy by Nature. If you can adjust for sunlight, you'll appreciate the difference. Background will be less distracting, too. Also allow more space around bloom. Good shot for not-yet-serious photography.
