I'm probably the worst possible person to give feedback on this; I have a lot of trouble with shots like these. That said:

I like the lighting a lot. It's airy and natural feeling -- no doubt enhanced by the white curtains. I also like the shadow of the chair, and the overall subdued color.

Shooting down at the chair has given the impression that it's disproportionately tiny -- a good outcome if that was your intent...?

Overall, though, this shot isn't doing a lot for me. I love minimalism, but it needs more context (not so tight a crop? more wall?). Or a lower perspective might give it some pop. Other thoughts include raising the contrast and taking it into either B&W or Sepia, to see what that does.

rlarsen,

As Dazyl suggests. Moving back a foot or two, more wall (if plain) or even to the right with more window (if no distracting outdoor scenery). Chair has charm, maybe try other rooms or even outdoors. I like the shot as it is for its potential.

I agree with most of Dazyl's advice, especially a lower perspective, but I wouldn't do black and white. I really like the colors of the chair and the rug.
