Talking An Impressionist View

The image started as a slighly out of focus image of a boy hitting a baseball. I was playing around with different filters in photo shop and ended up with what you see. I used the smudge to to distort the back ground removing the fence and spectators but do not remember which tool gave the batter's his look. Any one have any Ideas.

Interesting effect. It reminds me of the way some artists were able to manipulate the SX-70 Polariod images by using a stylus to adjust the position of the emulsion under the protective plastic film before it dried and became more permanent.

Richard Britt,

The batter looks like "Brighten Edges," or whatever it's called in PS. Fascinating work here.

Thanks for the feed back. Your clue worked. I search for brighten and "edges" in Photoshop help. I did not find the filter Brighten but the filter Accent Edges did the trick. Thanks for the kick in the right direction.

Wow the use of the word Artist to reference something I had done brought a tear to the eye. I was interesting to hear that a similar effect could be created by smearing the chemicals in a SX-70 Polariod, now that's inventive.
