This is one of my first forays into long exposure blurring. Any tips on how to improve my technique in this area?

Hi and welcome to the Forum. I think you have several things going for you in this excellent long exposure. First, the composition is very nice. The "s" curve comprised of sidewalk at the top and the two crosswalk lines adds a subtle but positive flow through the image. The yellow overhead traffic light helps frame the top of the image to keep your eyes in the frame and balances the yellow streaks below. In addition to motion, you have the 'frozen pedestrians. All in all, a super shot! Can you share your technical details such as camera/lens, shutter speed, ISO, f/stop and any post production work you did in CS2?

Hi!. Welcome. That's Avenida de Mayo, isn't it?. I really really like the photo. I know that is a very busy place, with people rushing everywhere. So, the steadiness of your main subject shows a wonderful contrast. I, but just because I like, would have gone B&W.

Thanks for your comments guys.

Nai no Kami, that is an incredibly good spot Yes it is Avenida de Mayo! I had actually considered photoshopping a B&W version but keeping the yellow, but decided against it as you see quite of lot of that type of photo these days.

clockdoc, tech specs as follows: Sony DSLR-A100, 0.5s at f/16, 18mm, ISO100, Manual, Tripod Mounted. I punched up the contrast and colour a little in Lightroom.
