Default Something from my fridge....

Hi Guys, took this for a comp on another site, the title was "A Close-Up Of Something From The Fridge", can you tell me what you think of the composition, lighting etc, I used a light tent with a black background, daylight from the right side and a tungsten clip light from above. Underexposed it to make the black background more solid so you cant see the wrinkles in the material, it was a fairly slow shutter speed at ISO 100 - F/18 to keep it sharp from front to back - 1/60 shutter speed on a tripod and self timer. Didnt use my macro close up filters, just straight 28-90mm USM lens.

Hi! I think the eggs are an interesting addition in this grouping, and I like their color addition. The mushrooms have a bit of a bluish tint to them. Do you do any post-processing? Perhaps you could whiten those up a bit. Nice grouping, in terms of arrangement!

You know I was just thinking the same thing with the mushrooms, in fact looking at it now it has an overall blue tint to it, just thinking, I had the white balance set to tungsten for my clip light, but there was also daylight from the side, I think maybe that was the problem. Maybe one of you guys can have a go at it without losing too much of the colour on the other items and let me know what you did ?

Damo,

Will try an edit, thanks. First impression was that lower half might have benefitted from more contrast in size and/or shape: zucchini, broccoli, etc. Good to see flashless lighting, even with the tint.

Thats great tufcat, I just had another go and although I managed to lose the blue tint, I think I lost something in the mushrooms doing it......

(speaking of the original)...great color combinations and arrangements! Nice composition! Good choice of black background. My only suggestion is to get it a bit sharper.

I made a little more adjustment to the mushrooms. I think their color is getting close.

Thanx for the opportunity to play with Elements.

I think thats it Tufcat, just right, my mushrooms looked whiter than white and kind of unnatural, you retained the other colours well too.
