Yes! Even a sapling, barely a tree, is a stronger image closeup than an entire forest of similar adult foliage. It has identifiable character, small touches of good color in tip growth. And it's a good photo. (Consider leaving a fair amount of space around subject.)

That's a great little tree. Gets a little lost in the backgound tho' - difficult when you can't move things around I know - but how about blurring the background a bit? I'd also like to see a really close close-up of one of those tips - the top one on the left maybe? Good work.

I believe clockdoc quoted Scott Kelby on a similar shot of a plant recently. The advice to not shoot down onto plants and to get down to the plants level really helps to eliminate busy backgrounds.
