Talking Family...

I took this shot a few years ago at the San Diego Wild Life Park. Originally it was taken in portrait view, but the background took away from the shot.

thoughts?

I find this a really nice shot.
The gorilla on the right is in very good focus.

However, maybe two suggestions :

You can crop the picture to leave the right hand gorilla.
By changing position a little you could have avoided to have both apes in the picture,
leaving only the right hand one (withouth disctracting background).

Again, nice picture !!

Both versions tell a story. As shown with the two gorillas, one could be the lead character in a zoo stroy with the second gorilla playing a bit part and hence the out-of-focus rendering. Nice shot!

Mike09381,

Thinking this is good as is. If you still have original and it has even a little more of left side, it would be better to have space between hand and frame. Expression on lead subject is wonderful; square works well for composition. A touch of saturation couldn't hurt.

I recropped with the right hand still in the shot, not sure why I didn't do that the first time. I also saturated the grass a little to give it more color. Thanks for all the HPOs!

mike09381,

It's the little things; you took a fine photo. That's all I see now. Good job!
