Default Nice photo!

Hi Murtasma:
Nice photo. As i can see (tell me if i'm wrong) this you used HDR technique. I love it. Just as a comment I tryed before to take some photos with many exposures but I can't get the same effect on photoshop. I would like to know if you can share your technique.
Good job!

Yes yes yes. I really like the effect that this photo gives and would like to know the steps you took to create it!

hi oriolhdz. i dont think you can get the effect you want with PS. i maybe missing somthing, but PS doesnt seem to have any tone mapping options.so i use photomatrix pro and Artizen. i have them both if you need them, or you can dl the trial versions.

Looks like a lot of work went into it, and it was worth it. Stunning.

I wish I knew what I did to this image. My workflow is so chaotic sometimes I just go with the flower and see were the image wants to go. The orginal tone mapped image has a much more bright happy feeling to it.

Here is something I like to do. This works in PS3 but can work in other version you just have to do more steps to get your black and white layer.

I create a Black and white adjustment layer and select infrared then I tweak the sliders for each color until I get a nice dark sky while keeping the other details in check.

I then duplicate the background layer and move this copy above the black and white. I then try out diffrent blending modes but usually i got with multiply , overlay or color. I then adjust the opacity of the copied layer.

I did that serveral times over with diffrent blending modes on this image. I also created the fog using nik Flex Color filters they are really great but the interface is horrible. Then some color adjustment layers curve adjustment and a hair of shadow / highlight as a last step.

I really wish I knew what I did to this image I would like to try it on others. That's part of the fun tho I never know what I'm going to get.

you can get a tone mapped image in photoshop just like you can in photomatrix altho it takes more work. Photomatrix it's easier because you just have to move some sliders around however in PS here is what you do.

1. Generate your HDR image you will get a 32 bit image.
2. Go to Image > Mode > 16 bit
3. Select the last option in the drop down I can't remember the name
4. Select your radius and threshold then hit the Tone Historgram Arrorw and a Curbe adjustment will come up. Adjust the curve as you see hit. I have spent more then an hour getting a curve just right when in photomatrix I can do it in about 5 minutes.

I rarely use PS to tone map images now unless it's one of those really dark HDR that's photomatrix has problems with usually lots of artifacts but now the new version can tone compress which helps these darker HDR images.
