Default My attempt at Lomo

Hi all,

I've been winding my way through the forums and the blog and the tutorial for a coupla days now and although I haven't even scratched the surface of whats of offer out there (y'all are fairly prolific I say!), I was (not surprisingly) very taken with the Lomo effect and I thought I'd share my first attempt with you. What do you think?

wow - it does make the photo pop, doesn't it? I've been having some fun with lomo, too - and have a bit of trouble deciding what's just right and what's too much - but I think you came awfully close to just right

I love it! It gives the photo so much more depth. I love playing with the lomo effect on certain photos. You picked a good one for it.

Great use of Lomo I think the post processing is a improvment over the orginal however. I think the shot stands by it's self however the lomo really makes it pop.

Hi all,

Thank you for your comments! It really does make the picture pop! I am now running the risk of indiscriminately Lomo'ing anything and everything!!

If you use photoshop create yourself an action. I love doing this it really saves you time. Just apply it in diffrent steps in your workflow and see what happens. Soon you will know what effects work for type of images. I have a Lomo / Color Infrared / Infrared / Veliva Color / Lomo / Holga actions all created by me. I apply them to just about every image in diffrent steps with diffrent opatcies you can get really creative this way and it doesn't require any of your time just a click of a button and af ew seconds later it's applied if you don't like it just remove it
