Default Crane downtown Winnipeg

Ok I have having some troubles with this photo.

I like it but I think it is missing something.

Please help me, I know this can be a great shot.

I like it, but i think the problem is the crane is being out done by the sky,

i think it would look alot better if you cut down the sky to just around the crane and building, all the 'empty space' is distracting, i also think the crane needs highlighting a bit, to make it stand out a bit more,

overall its a great shot, but i might be bias as i love industrial photo's.

Yup, It's the lack of contrast in the colors. I think it's got potential though.

I like this pic alot but as it was said before the main thing that drew my attention were the clouds. A good vertical crop in my opinion would give the crane more attention. Good shot though!

I think cropping the image tighter on the crane is a good starting point. I would also remove the yellow color cast over the image.

lancer,

The best first move was including all of your subject, and gaining almost another floor, which means your original was better than first post indicated. The color is better, but the whole thing still leans to the left. Notice also how much more detail flomaster has in the crane.
