Increase your aperture waaaaaay more... something like f/22. f/2.8 will give you too shallow a depth-of-field for landscapes like these.

Remember, he shot it with a Powershot. These cameras' f-stop don't really go as far as F22. According to DPReview, it's limited to F4.8.

Oh, sorry. I'm not very familiar with P&S cameras. Too used to my DSLR
But at any rate, the apertures on P&Ss when converted to 35mm equivalent, are much higher I believe.

Quote:
An aperture of f/2.8 (on a P&S camera) is equivalent to an aperture opening of f/11 on an SLR camera! And, when you're at f/4, you're able to record a depth of field equivalent to f/16.

I hope to say that to a newbie someday.

Thanks, I did not know that. I should have realised that when I learnt that the focal length "differ" between the two formats.

thanks for the comments guys...
the fstop on the cam ranges from f/2.8 - f/8 in wide and f/4.8 - f/8.

i'll increase the aperture and try taking the shot again and see how it comes out...

F8 will get you much better results. Compostion wise tho I think it's very good you just needed more depth of field that's all!
