Some things I think need attention:
  • Levelling the wall - Actually the camera was level, as far as I knew, it's just the wall that is irregular
  • More light? It's a cloudy day
  • Sepia/BW?
  • The piece of glass
  • The mark on the wall behind

Anything else? What do you think?

I think it could do with a slight increase in contrast. Nice shot, though!

Interesting shot. I like it in color but as another suggested, some contrast would help. The mark on the wall and glass can be easily cloned out if you feel they are distracting.

A slight increase in brightness and a comparatively larger increase in contrast. Cloned out the mark on the wall.

Much better. You have a good eye for the abstract.

Thank you, clockdoc. You are kind.

This particular "plant" has had my attention for quite some time, being just outside my window. And some weeks ago, during early hours of the evening, when the sun was bright but low in the sky, it used to have a glow about it.

Nice shot! The re-worked pic is just right. I wouldn't touch the piece of glass though. I'd like to think it adds a bit of 'figurative' contrast to the composition!

Thanks, guys!

Ashwin, having recently learnt about making a digital neutral-density filter, appropriate or not, I tried my hand at creating one for this shot, but it didn't come out too well.

Like this shot...the title tells you what you are seeing too.
I really don't think B&W or sepia would make it any better. Its alrady as B&W except for the green as you can get. I ledge could be leveled but it might be obvious that its rotated then. The stalk would be turned a bit. I like it like it is.
